Accessory Dwelling Unit

As per California State order, single R1 zoned lots are now allowed to have a granny unit, a guest house or an ADU built on the lot. Setback requirements have been relaxed allowing the structure to be closer to the side property lines as well as to the rear property line. Parking requirements have also been relaxed, and in some cases not required at all, for the new structure.
In this case, the ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) has a two car garage, a washer and dryer room, and a covered deck on the first level with the living quarters and it’s deck on the second level. The total square footage is 1,746.
